The picture was shot just downstream of the tunnel on highway 14 on May 29, 2014 with a huge snow melt flow in the river. There are not many parking spots in the Little Narrows, but you can find some near the tunnel.

May 25, 2014. Flooded Illinois River meanders through Colorado’s North park. This is a view from my favorite view point on highway 14 just a few miles east of Walden. In addition to a great scenic you will find there a lot of historic information about the region from native Americans to fur trappers, coal mining and lumber industry.
The above picture were shot when I was returning from a paddling trip on North Platte River from Walden to Northgate Canyon. I stop at this spot almost every time when driving near Walden.
