3 Pictures from Horsetooth Reservoir and Foothills after Wildfires

Horsetooth Reservoir, Horsetooth Mountain Open Space and Lory State Park are popular recreational areas near Fort Collins. Horsetooth Reservoir is one of my favorite paddling destination, especially, off season or on weekdays during power boating season. During last years we experienced several wildfires west of Horsetooth. The first picture was shot from the Centennial Road while next two during my paddling workouts.

Illinois River Meanders through Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge

Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge
Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge

May 25, 2014. Flooded Illinois River meanders through Colorado’s North park. This is a view from my favorite view point on highway 14 just a few miles east of Walden. In addition to a great scenic you will find there a lot of historic information about the region from native Americans to fur trappers, coal mining and lumber industry.

The above picture were shot when I was returning from a paddling trip on North Platte River from Walden to Northgate Canyon. I stop at this spot almost every time when driving near Walden. You can find more pictures of the Illinois River in my stock photography portfolio. These royalty free images are ready for download and license.
